PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For this project I developed poetic and practical experiences that inform the viewer about the life of Charlie Parker with icons, indexes, and symbols. To me, bebop Jazz is exciting, bouncy, fun, and unexpected. I have illustrated the images that come to my mind when I hear Charlie Parker's music. The form of the poetic experience is designed in a way that almost forces the viewer to look at each wall in order to leave the space. After the viewer has walked through most of the box and has seen exciting designs, they see the two dark walls that inform them of Charlie Parker's death, which may seem unexpected to them and leave them with more questions, which are answered in the booklet.
