PROJECT STATEMENT
Charlie Parker’s life was intriguing, contrasting and capricious. In the exhibit space, the
viewer walks through the up-and-down of Charlie’s life. The first part is light
and happy, leading to a lifted stage with a glass ceiling, representing
Charlie’s career peak -- having his head up to the clouds. The second part
of the interior space gets darks and leads downwards, representing the dark
side of Charlie’s life, his drug addiction and eventual death.
