Nikki Haskell Final
The best way for me to provide a spacial experience was to provide an area to view out toward Charlie's monument located in the courtyard by the American Jazz Museum. With the stained window approach it gives an even more interactive view from up top, as we as the roof top deck where you can get another view of the Parker's statue. I focused on designing an experience so with this my three attributes I wanted to convey are lively, spirited & historic.

Kylie Vandeven Spacial Experience
To represent bebop jazz and the iconic life of Charlie Parker, I created a spacial and print experience. Within the space, the visitors move rhythmically through contrasting colors and layered patterns that represent the emotion and energy in the music. The contrast conveys Parker’s brilliance as a musician and the tragedy of addiction. The bird’s eye view and single bird on a wire represent Parker’s free spirit and life on the road. The space represents Parker’s lasting legacy and his role in the creation of Bebop.

For my P2
project, I had three keywords guiding my design efforts: passion,
unpredictable and energetic. I chose these words, because they reflect
upon Charlie Parker himself, bebop music, and/or both.
The spatial experience I designed depicts a progression of Parker's life:
1) young & bright beginnings;
2) bold & dark musician lifestyle;
3) a warm tribute to celebrate Parker
The book I designed has french fold binding—the hidden pops of colors and patterns are fitting to the undulating musical notes associated with bebop jazz.

Project Statement:
Walking through the Ornithology, one experiences what it would be like to flow through Charlie Parker's saxophone throughout his career. The space transforms from upbeat to dark as did Charlie's life. Along the walls of Charlie's spacial journey are the prints of the bird tracks that move the viewer through the exhibit.
Reading the booklet about Charlie Parkers life is a very intense informational process. It involves revolving pages much like the way his life revolved around playing jazz.
